COMMUNITY is about COMMUNICATION & FUN.
Those with Community (formerly Sage) are playful, humorous and expressive group facilitators and builders. They are triggered by group inertia, when groups are stuck and need help to get flowing again. They also notice when something needs to be voiced. They can tell a great story using their natural skills of articulation and rhythm. People with the Community Talent have appetite; they are full of zest and desire for more. They grow from trying to be the center of everyone’s attention to smoothly facilitating group interaction and building joyful teams and communities. More mature people with Community keep all interactions real, flowing and fun – or why bother?
The Lessons of the Community Talent are shown below:
In Lessons 1 & 2, Community (formerly Sage) wants the group to be focused on them – they want to be the center of attention. They demonstrate a slippery quality, saying whatever is needed to keep your attention and get what they want (e.g., sell you something you don’t need or want or talking their way out of responsibility for something). Sometimes they may say things that aren’t true. They often talk too much or make noises that may seem vulgar to others. They know how to indulge, over-enjoying life. They use jokes and humor to make things less real and meaningful, rather than to move things forward. In Lesson 1 this is all very explicit. In Lesson 2 these traits become more mild yet still run in the background.
In Lessons 3 & 4, those with Community prioritize building groups, and they know that they must become more quiet and listen to others to do so. In Lesson 3, they now use humor and playfulness to loosen things up and move things forward. They have natural abilities with speaking the “elephant in the room” themselves as well as getting others to share and participate. They know that if life is not fun, if everything is not fun, even while being real, that there is no point in continuing on.
In Lesson 4, Community demonstrates a healthy appetite for life. They know how to enjoy the journey of life in healthy balance while enticing others to do the same. They have a great sense of group flow in their bodies. They use their great sense of timing and rhythm to take subtle actions to get social flow unstuck and instead building into expansive and integrated community. They are a joy to be with as they bring out joy in everyone around them – in everything they do.
